Wescor has become a world leader in staining technology during the past two decades. The company has continued to improve the groundbreaking Aerospray staining method with advancements in staining quality, user-convenience and cost reduction. Wescor continues to listen carefully to those in the Hematology community to improve the Aerospray automated staining method. The model 7151 Aerospray is the result of more than 20 years of research and development. Wescor has modified the traditional Romanowsky methanolic staining process with a unique mixing system that produces partially aqueous stains, while maintaining the advantage of separate storage of eosin and thiazin components. Aerospray employs centrifugal force to remove excess stain.

REAGENT ECONOMY
Reagent is mixed together and then applied to individual slides in the carousel as an atomized spray. Reagent delivery conforms with the number of slides being stained in any given run. Consequently, stain consumption is conservative and reagent costs are significantly minimized.

USER-PROGRAMMABILITY
The Aerospray is highly responsive to a wide range of staining requirements. The Aerospray provides a choice of 9 preprogrammed intensity settings for the Rapid, Wright-Giemsa, May-Grünwald Giemsa, and Custom Stain programs. Simply make your selection by pressing a single keypad. Unique custom staining options make the instrument highly responsive to a wide range of staining requirements.

CONVENIENT
The Aerospray Stainer features user-selectable clean cycles that keep maintenance to a minimum. It's a clean no-fuss process from start to finish.

RAPID PERFORMANCE
With a cycle time of 4 minutes, the Aerospray stainer is ideal for STATS, but with a throughput of more than 120 slides per hour, it handles heavy loads easily. In either case, slides emerge dry and ready for the microscope.

OPTIONAL CYTOCENTRIFUGE ROTOR
For the cost of the optional Cytopro Rotor, the Aerospray Stainer becomes a superb cytocentrifuge with 8-slide capacity and keyboard programmability- all at a fraction of the cost of a stand-alone cytocentrifuge.

Simultaneous contact by both dyes produces the classic Romanowsky staining patterns with superior, textbook quality results. The thiazin and eosin dyes are loaded separately onto the instrument to correct the reagent stability problems common to mixed stains. These stains are automatically combined and mixed prior to application to produce superior results. Aerospray offers a versatile selection of 9 different intensities for each of the 4 set programs: Rapid, Wright-Giemsa, May-Grünwald Giemsa, and Custom Stain with simple adjustment routines to tailor the staining to individual preferences. A programmable function is also available for special staining requirements. Fixation can be done in the instrument or slides can be hand fixed. While methanol is the normal fixative, Aerofix may be required in humid environments. With Aerospray you get up to 120 slides an hour and the convenience of cytocentrifugation in the same instrument.

It's Both... CYTOPRO® CYTOCENTRIFUGE ROTOR
With the optional Cytopro rotor, the Aerospray stainer becomes a cytocentrifuge at a fraction of the cost of a stand-alone cytocentrifuge. There's no modification or fiddling involved. Simply remove the staining carousel and replace it with the Cytopro rotor. The self-contained rotor loads easily in a safety cabinet. An airtight seal controls biological hazards. The rotor and sample chambers are autoclavable. Sample chambers are competitively priced so you can economically dispose of them.

Buyer's Specifications The hematology stainer shall be a Wescor Model 7120 Aerospray Hematology Slide Stainer/Cytocentrifuge and shall be capable of both staining and cytocentrifugation. The stainer shall have 7 stain intensity settings for peripheral blood smears and 3 bone marrow stain intensity settings. The stainer shall stain from 1-12 slides in less than 5 minutes and shall consume no more than 75 watts of electrical power and shall weigh less than 41 lbs. The stainer shall have an automatic clean cycle to clean spray nozzles and the interior bowl and staining carousel.
