Wescor Model 4420 Colloid® Osmometer
uses a semi-permeable membrane dividing sample and reference chambers
to simulate the role of the natural vascular membrane in the establishment
of osmotic pressure responsible for water flow between interstitial
fluid and blood. Simplicity Precision Providing Direct COP Measurement
Monitoring serum Colloid®
osmotic pressure (COP) after heart surgery allows prediction of
pulmonary edema formation.
The Wescor Colloid®
Osmometer provides this vital information and guides the administration
of Colloid® therapy when it is used to control edema. Unique,
flow-through design of sample and reference chambers, whole blood
capability, and user-friendly microprocessor-controlled electronics
makes the Colloid® Osmometer simple, accurate, and reliable.
