Mycoscreen Plus is a 24-hour method based upon the ability of U.u. and M.h. to metabolize urea or arginine and the organisms antimicrobial resistance profile. Mycoplasma growth in the test well is indicated by a color change from yellow to pink.

Each microplate is composed of 4 rows of 2 wells each: a Ureaplasma urealiticum well containing lincomycin and a Mycoplasma hominis well containing erythromycin. Also, each microplate is divisible, allowing 4 samples to be run in each microplate or broken apart and used separately.
