Model 5520 Vapro® Vapor
Pressure Osmometer. A high-precision vapor pressure osmometer that
produces accurate osmolality values on 10 microliters of a wide range
of solutions from biological and industrial sources, especially valuable
in research and in the speedy and simple provision of essential osmolality
data in Clinical Chemistry. The most advanced, easy to use vapor pressure
osmometer ever developed.
The menu-driven Vapro®
Osmometer determines osmolality at room temperature with sample in
natural equilibrium.
What you don't get are cryoscopic artifacts due to high viscosity,
suspended particles, or other conditions that interfere with freezing
point determinations. The superbly accurate Vapor Pressure Osmometer
has a much broader range of error-free applications.
Functions are selected
from a simple menu. The Vapro® Vapor Pressure Osmometer is
self-calibrating and exceptionally stable. Built in self-diagnostics
alert you to any malfunction or procedural error. Statistical functions
display average and standard deviation of several samples, and the
handy clean test monitors thermocouple cleanliness. Regardless of
the application, the Vapro® Osmometer will be a remarkable
partner in the laboratory.

Specifications
The osmometer shall be a Wescor Model 5520 Vapor Pressure
Osmometer and shall operate on the vapor pressure depression
principle. The osmometer shall be capable of routine osmolality
determinations on sample volumes of 2-10 microliters and
shall perform the measurement automatically once the sample
has been loaded. The osmometer shall be capable of routine
osmolality determinations on whole blood, viscous samples
and tissue specimens. The osmometer shall consume no more
than 30 watts of electrical power and shall weigh less
than 4 kg. |
